I’m sure you must have heard about the controversy that has encircled and covered the actual Sportive Feeling behind the Commonwealth Games, Delhi 2010. The Games’ Organizing Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi has been in the news from quite a while now. There have been so many rumors, results and proofs that Kalmadi and his “associates” have indulged in the mismanagement of the funds approved for the games. Writer Shoba De says “With lakhs of money used to build the flushes too, we will have the world’s shiny clean bums!” Lol.
The Finance Ministry today said that it too is verifying the documents to check financial irregularities in award of works related to the Commonwealth Games. The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) had found serious discrepancies like award of works at higher rates to bidders, poor quality of construction and grant of work to ineligible agencies in different Games-related construction works. Yesterday, the Organizing Committee suspended its embattled chairman Suresh Kalmadi’s close aide T S Darbari and two other tainted high-ranked officers in a desperate bid to restore its credibility. Give me one reason why Mr. Kalmadi himself is allowed to stay there??
One of my friends showed me this link to Suresh Kalmadi’s Official website. If proved rightly WRONG, Mr. Kalmadi will go down in history as one of the worst disgraces to Indian Patriotism!! When I visited the site, there was an option at the left sidebar where I could “Write to Kalmadi”. I tried… but as usual all these “political” websites are only public gimmicks. I received an automated reply from that site, which I suppose is just a joke!!!
His vision 2020???!!! As is what? The Asian Games? Olympic Games? Any ‘Games’ of his own??!!! Booo Kalmadi and Booo the Congress for taking so long to do just about anything!!! What the hell is the Sports Minister, Mr. Gill doing about it?!! He should be sacked first if he cannot even find out the truth behind money being spent!! Oh I’m sorry… he’s a minister too!! Can’t wait to see how the games unfold! I’m talking about the “actual sports games”!
